Présentation de l' Editeur
LEN DEIGHTON was born in London in 1929. After completing his National Service in the RAF as a photographer attached to the Special Investigation Branch, he went to St Martin's School of Art and
later, with a scholarship, to the Royal College of Art. At this time, his part-time work as a waiter sparked off his interest in cookery, which he further developed in his animated strip for the
Observer followed by his two cookery books, ABC OF FRENCH FOOD and BASIC FRENCH COOKERY COURSE. He has also worked as an illustrator in New York and as a director for an advertising
agency, after which he moved to the Dordogne and began work on his first novel, THE IPCRESS FILE, which was published to instant acclaim and spectacular success in 1926. Len Deighton has since
written 24 books of fiction, all immediate bestsellers around the world, and five books of non-fiction.
